Social Activities :)

The city Munich provides different kinds of oppurtunities to make use of time well. The Erasmus Students Association (MESA) arranges every wednesday a meeting called 'stammtisch' where you can meet the other erasmus students in Munich which is a great chance to share the experiences with each other. MESA also organises trips to Wien,Berlin,Augsburg and other places with cheap tickets which is again good for sightseeing and starting friendships. The parties take place in 'Olydisco' usually friday or saturday evenings with the attendance of so many students. There we had also Salsa sessions for the erasmus students once for a week.

Working Opportunities

There are lots of chances for the students who like to work in Munich. The students from the EU countries have the same conditions like the German students and the other students are also allowed to work 90 days which is pretty good to get more used to living in Munich, communicating and having experience. It is also good to improve language skills. In this semester I had friends who could manage to find a job which is called 'Studentische Hilfskraft'.They worked as student assistants in university. Students also have the oppurtunity to find an internship, but it is required to work all day which means you need a period of at least 3 months without any lectures, the semester holiday is suitable for such kind of intership.
Student und Arbeitsmarkt which is a career service of LMU supports the students to find jobs, internships in Germany and in other countries.

Sports

Dear Erasmus Students :)
I welcome the erasmus students to my blog who are going to have great time in Munich as an exchange student. I will start giving you hints about the places you can go the social activities and the oppurtinities that you can have in Munich.

This first post will be about the Hochschulsport Munich. As an Erasmus student in LMU (Ludwig Maximilians Universitat) or in TUM (Technical University Munich)you have the chance to do daily sport. There are lots of oppurtunities like gym, swimming pool, the sports with trainers also aerobics, plates and so on. You are only required to have a sportcard and it costs 7 euros for all sports for the whole semester. For the swimming pool you have to pay 15 euros extra and it is also for all semester. All students are interested in doing sports and they find it a great chance and cheap to afford as a student. The place is in the 'Olympiazentrum' which is not far away from the city centre and easy to go. The timetables are created for the students the sessions with the trainers usually start at 18:00 in the evening which is a better time instead in the morning which the students have lectures.
